Santa always left oranges

Every year, an orange was left in the toe of my Christmas stocking. The bright smell of orange oil on my fingertips brings back memories of when everything seemed magical on Christmas morning.

Before the fudge...

As a child, I could always count on my mother making a batch of her wonderful homemade fudge as a Christmas treat. I loved watching the process of candy making. My favorite part was watching the chocolate melt into the mixture. And the smell... it was sheer heaven.

A child's Christmas wishes...

I remember every year as I was growing up having a Christmas wish of some kind. I often would dream of the coming of the Christmas season months before--envisioning all the beautiful decorations with their sparkle and magic. I sometimes miss feeling that way and wish I could be filled with a child's Christmas wishes again.

Technicolor Red

Hubby and I love watching old technicolor Christmas movies because the reds are always so brilliant and magical. The movie White Christmas has them. And so does the film Susan Slept Here with a young Debbie Reynolds. It's that red that gives me lots of Christmas spirit.
